What is Mt Zion 2025?
Mt Zion Conference is a new international Christadelphian conference, set up with the purpose of providing young adults in one of the world’s most scenic locations to reconnect and increase their faith together. Join us for a week in Queenstown with Bible talks, group discussions and activities catered to a mature group, providing an invaluable opportunity unlike any other offered worldwide.
Imagine waking up to the crisp mountain air. As you step outside, you’re greeted by the stunning views of Lake Wakatipu, with its snow-capped peaks of Ben Lomond painting a picturesque backdrop. Get ready for some adrenaline-pumping fun with a variety of games and activities designed to foster teamwork, laughter, and fellowship. Whether you’re competing in friendly sports tournaments, or simply enjoying leisurely walks around the lakeside, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
When is it happening?
Mt Zion 2025 will be held from 3.00 pm Tuesday 12 August, 2025 to 2.00 pm Sunday 17 August, 2025, God Willing.
Where is it happening?
Mt Zion 2025 will be held at Lakeland Camp on the Kelvin Heights Peninsula Road. Flights should be booked to Queenstown Airport. It is a 10 minute drive away and transport can be arranged to and from the conference on request.
What is the format?
The morning talks will be led by Brother Tony Lines from South Australia, who will be taking us through the book of Romans. This will be followed up by discussion groups around practical ways to apply Romans in our lives.
What will we be studying?
The letter to the Romans is the most succinct, clear, and systematic presentation of fundamental doctrine in all of Scripture. Tyndale called it “the principal and most excellent part of the New Testament” – and that’s a big claim! It’s different from most of Paul’s other letters in that it doesn’t really address any ecclesial difficulties. Romans is simply a statement of the principles of God’s dealings with men – the power of the gospel for salvation and for everyday life – for Jew and Gentile alike.
Paul begins by remarking on human sinfulness, that is, that all people fall short of living the way God intends us to. It’s an experience that all can relate to. Paul wrote that due to our disobedience to God – against what is right – all of humanity has been condemned. But, Paul goes on, God is merciful and gracious and offers us justification or a way to be made right, through faith in Jesus Christ His Son. What a wonderful blessing!
Importantly, Paul concludes by outlining how the gospel can transform believers and the behaviour that results from such a transformation. He describes this transformation as a “renewing of your mind” (12:2). Along with those in Rome, we too will seek transformation of our lives over conformation with the world.
About the Speaker

I’ve lived in South Australia for most of my life but have very fond memories of living in New Zealand for 4 years. My wife Sarah and I have 5 children (“all grown up” now!) and 4 beautiful grandchildren. It seems like I’ve taught Sunday School since we were married – and it’s been a special highlight of my week. I feel very blessed to have been able to so this. I love “breaking small” and teaching the gems in the Bible, assisting in meaningfully marking and colouring these lessons into our Bible, and then watching our young mature in the faith. For a number of years my senior class at my home ecclesia of Happy Valley has been considering Romans, and it’s that study that I’d like to share with you.
Attendees
We are hoping to welcome a maximum of 130 Christadelphian young adults, so book in early or you’ll miss out! To attend you must be 20-35 years of age before the camp starts. Study notes are provided to aid in our discussion groups.
All attendees are required to be present for the entire conference. When booking in to the conference, we request that you attend all organised activities and studies. Your full commitment and attendance at Mt Zion will maximise your experience and that of other attendees.
Married couples (with no children) are welcome to attend. But, as there are limited spaces for married couples, accommodation may need to be organised outside of the campground. The Committee will contact you to help with arrangements. Please note, we are arranging for all single attendees to stay on site.
If you have any questions around accommodation, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the committee using the contact form.
